Diversity and inclusion
Thoughts, opinions and takeaways from the Diversity and Inclusion seminar hosted by the Australian Human Resources Institute with guest speaker, Alma Besserdin, Founder and Director of Wimmigrants.
There has been a lot of progression and research done within the fields of diversity, inclusion and workplace culture in the recent years. These are my thoughts, opinions and takeaways from the Diversity and Inclusion seminar I attended last week, hosted by the Australian Human Resources Institute with guest speaker, Alma Besserdin, Founder and Director of Wimmigrants.
Inclusion goes both ways.
Cultural diversity in a workplace is not necessarily an inclusive workplace culture.
“Culture” and “individualism” can be interchangeable when speaking about inclusion in the workplace.
Australia’s population is projected to reach 30 million people between 2029 and 2033, according to the latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS, 2018). Is the Australian workforce evolving at the right pace to accommodate, and better yet strategically leverage, the diversity of cultures and individuals that will make up the future of our workforce? And have you compromised on the right values to fit within your team, department and organisational culture?
Change is here, more is coming, how are you keeping up?
